Coats for the Homeless
Donation of warm clothes and coats for the
homeless in Philadelphia
Why the sudden attraction of drag racing? Damage
to her Achilles tendon sidelined her from her
normal sports routine of soccer, basketball and
equestrian activities. The fierce competitor
within saw the opportunity to continue to
campaign after watching the Disney movie about a
girl drag racer. She enjoyed the speed
immediately!

Philadelphia Fire Lieutenant
Combat Firefighter with the 111th Fighter Wing,
Pennsylvania Air National Guard. Activated twice
following the 9/11 attacks, serving in Southwest
Asia during Operation’s Enduring Freedom, Iraqi
Freedom and Noble Eagle.
First exposed to drag racing as a crew member
for Top Fuel Team #132 in 1976.
Current member of Racers for Christ.
WHAT IS A JUNIOR DRAGSTER?
• Junior dragsters are a half scale dragster,
powered by five horsepower engines that produce
speeds of up to 90 MPH
• The NHRA O’Reilly Auto Parts Jr. Drag Racing
League competes on an eighth mile track
• Founded in 1992, the Jr. Drag Racing League
has over 4,000 drivers
• Anyone can join the Jr. Drag Racing League,
but must be ages 8-17 to compete as drivers.
Drivers 13 – 17 can cover the track as fast as
7.90 seconds at 90 MPH
• About 25% of the Jr. Drag Racing League
drivers are female
• There are 130 participating tracks in North
America
• The average age for these drivers is 12
• The top 30 race teams will be selected to
represent their tracks at the Nationals
• Ten local track champions will also receive
prizes at the NHRA Annual Awards Banquet.
• The Jr. Drag Racing League season will
culminate with the NHRA O’Reilly Auto Parts Jr.
Drag Racing League Eastern and Western Finals;
$100,000.00 in US Savings Bonds will be given
away at each national event.
